People find our store a little difficult to describe. Frankly, we even have trouble ourselves sometimes.
Bohemian Home is much, much more than a contemporary furniture store. In fact, some customers think of us more in terms of lighting. And we certainly aren’t a gift shop, although you’d be hard-pressed to find a better place in Columbia, Charleston, or Greenville to locate that special something for that special someone. We have customers who come from all parts of SC for precisely that reason. We’re not an art & craft gallery, even though we have one of a kind art & crafts from all over the region, and all over the world. Of course, the owner of Bohemian Home, Bruce Schultze, is an artist by birth and by training, so the artistic bent of the store should come as no surprise.
A Little History
Bohemian opened in 1976 in West Columbia on Meeting Street, and moved to 2736 Devine Street in June, 1978. We remained there for the next thirty years. In 2008, we moved our furniture to the old Store House Furniture location at 2720 Devine Street and created Bohemian Home. In 2010 we moved our clothing store, the original Bohemian, to its new space in Five Points at 707 Saluda Avenue.
As far as getting here is concerned, our central Shandon location is easy to find no matter which direction you’re coming from. In fact, here’s a map and directions to make us easier to locate, and here’s how you can contact us by email in case you’d like to do that.
We hope to see you sometime soon.
